BR 2-04: Fireball's Heart

"Ha!Ha!Ha! Your people always tell the truth? Do you really think so, Wise Owl? Do you think that they never tell lies?" laughs Strong Buffalo. wise Owl is quiet. Again he looks up at the sky. Then he looks at a tree on the other side. "Yes, I think so."

I read "Fireball's Heart" published from Helbring  Readers. This book doesn't have the happiest ending in the world. It's about telling the truth. Two Chief from their each prairie was betting if Dark Eyes, a man from Wise Owl's prairie. The bet were if Dark Eyes would ever lie in one week, because Wise Owl said his people would never lie. Dark Eyes meets a woman named Blue Feather. They spend time together, but one day, Blue Feather tells Dark Eyes she has an ill. To cure the ill, she had to eat the heart of the best horse on prairie. The best horse was Fireball, witch was Chief Wise Owl's favorite horse. He chose to save Blue Feather, by killing Fireball and getting his heart. Now Dark Eyes have to tell Chief about Fireball. He struggles, but he says the truth and Wise Owl wins the bet. It was a story about, "Always telling the truth isn't easy". I liked it.
