"Stone Soup"


One upon a time, there was a village. It was a nice nice place to live except for one thing. People did not like to share. One day a visitor came to town. He asked the villager to share him some food. But everyone said no. Then the visitor suddenly started to make a stone soup for everyone.(pp.2-4)
I read the book "Stone Soup" published from Folk & Fairy Tale Easy Readers. Just by looking at the book, I realized that this book was for kids. I couldn't understand why everyone suddenly started to share food to the visitor, even know everyone in that village hated to share. That's all I thought about with that story.

"The Gingerbread Man"






Once upon a time, an old woman baked a gingerbread man. But the naughty cookie jumped off the plate and dashed out the door. The old woman chased after him, but she couldn't catch him. He sang, "Run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me. I'm the Gingerbread man!"


 I read the book "The Gingerbread Man" published from Folk & Fairy Tale Easy Readers. And I'm not going to repeat what I just said few sentence ago. I know I'm not allowed to say this, but I'll say it why would a gingerbread man suddenly start moving? no one knows why, but hey, It's just a fairy tale. Just take it in.

BR 2-05: The Clever Woman

"Go and see Linda McCormack! She's a very clever woman. She knows the answer to everything." Sean Murphy is happy to hear this.            I've read "The Clever Woman" published from Helbling Readers. This book was about a man who wanted to relax, but couldn't relax because his family is always noisy in the house. He asked Linda McCormack for advice. She told him to get chiken, goose, and goat into his house. Then the house got more noisier. She told Mr Murphy to get the animals out, and after he did that, his family's noises didn't bothered him anymore.             I don't know that if this book is good. What this book is trying to tell is, "If you can't change the enviornment, you have to change yourself". I think this is kind of crusial. Just let the man relax. Puchta, H.(2007). The Clever Woman.

BR 1-02: Storm Castle

Suddenly, the magic key began to glow. "Oh no!" said biff. "I don't want the key to glow. I don't want a magic adventure. I want to play on Nick's computer." "I don't want a magic adventure," said Chip. "I don't want to go to..."(p.8) I've read "Storm Castle" published from Oxford Story Tree. This story was kind of different from always. Magic key usually glows when kids are trying to learn or discover somethings. BR 2-01: "Journey to Mars"

You are an austronaut. You and two other people are going on the first trip to Mars. Your space ship is called the Mars Adventure. You are the navigator. You must keep the space ship going the right way.  I've read "Journey to Mars" published by Atama ii books. It's been a while since last time I've read these books. I don't know what this book was trying to tell. You take off and immidiately, you some how find a wormhole right outside of Earth. The book askes you if you should go into the wormhole you don't even know what's going to happen. That's not strange enough? There is a self-destruct system on the ship. I mean, why? For what?
